Characteristics and Applications
Series H Right Angle Gear Box can transfer the power from horizontal shaft of the prime motor to vertical shaft, which has the advantages of economy, high efficiency, space saving, and suitability for various kinds of environmental conditions. A variety of models and transmission ratios can meet the requirement of any high or low speed engine.

By equipped with diesel engine, horizontal motor, or turbine, Series H Right Angle Gear Box is applied to the transmission and speed changing of a variety of vertical pumps, such as long shaft pump, deep-well pump, diagonal flow pump, axial flow pump, submerged pump, and etc, as well as other vertical shaft machinery. Due to the direct bearing capacity of the possible axial force from the working machinery, Series H Right Angle Gear Box can simplify the structure of the machine. In practice, Series H Right Angle Gear Box is widely used in farmland irrigation, water conservancy project, municipal projects, metallurgy and mine, petrochemical industry, fire protection, oceaneering, and etc.

    2. Performance
    2.1 Series H Right Angle Gear Box adopts bevel gear with the standard of Gleason tooth, which make the gear have a high level of bearing capacity and work smoothly. Besides, it is also not sensitive to the installation error to deformation and the axial thrust is large.

    2.2 Gear is made of 20CrMnTi steel and the surface is processed with carburizing and quenching, which make the surface with high hardness and make the core with good toughness.

    2.3 Rotation direction: Horizontal shaft rotates clockwise by looking from the head, vertical shaft rotates counterclockwise by looking from top down. If require different direction of rotation, please put CHINAMFG before order. 

    3. Operation
    3.1 The rotation direction of prime motor must be accordant with the rules, otherwise, the gear box will not be able to run and may also cause damage due to the stop action of anti-reverse mechanism. If the prime motor is electromotor, must check whether there is any change on the direction of rotation when next start.

    3.2 The output power of prime motor should not be greater than the corresponding power value. Different models of gear box have different limitation for the highest speed of vertical shaft, please do not exceed the prescribed highest speed. The input speed of horizontal shaft is no more than 3650 r/min.

    3.3 The downward pull from the working machine on the gear box shall not be lower than the given minimum axial thrust. This pull should also be lower than the given maximum axial thrust, otherwise, it will shorten the service life of upper bearing.
    3.4 After the first time of adding oil or changing oil, should remove oil-way bolt to check oil level before the start of second shift; when the level is below then the thread bottom, should refueling oil. Later in the case of no leak, should check the oil level once a week.

    3.5 When the gear box is working, should observe the injection of lubricating oil in time. Also pay attention to the libration, sound, temperature.

    4. Maintenance
    4.1 When the first time using of the gear box, the gear oil must be replaced after 3 hours.

    Steps to Replace a Faulty Gearbox in an Automobile

    How to Calculate Gear Ratio in a Gearbox

    Gear Ratio (GR) = Number of Teeth on Output Gear / Number of Teeth on Input Gear

    Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to calculate gear ratio:

    1. Identify the input and output gears in the gearbox.
    2. Count the number of teeth on the output gear (the gear connected to the output shaft).
    3. Count the number of teeth on the input gear (the gear connected to the input shaft).
    4. Plug the values into the gear ratio formula: GR = Number of Teeth on Output Gear / Number of Teeth on Input Gear.
    5. Calculate the gear ratio by performing the division.

    The gear ratio provides insight into how much the input gear needs to rotate to achieve a certain rotation of the output gear. It influences torque, speed, and direction of rotation in the gearbox.
